This week's Rise Above begins our story of Amy Purdy who lost both of her legs due to Bacterial Meningitis and nearly lost her life in the process. She never let her disability get in the way of her love of snowboarding and has continued to pursue her goals and dreams in spite of these challenges, in order to rise above.

Watch every other Thursday as Rise Above showcases individuals in action sports who have overcome some of life's biggest obstacles including physical disabilities, addiction and more. Through perseverance they have continued to push their sports and inspire others. These are their stories.
