Yep, he was a straight up legend. He had us all wearing wallet chains in the 1990's. Mike T. was an great influence on skating but he was also known for trying to create circus monkey's. I am so stoked to hear that Matt ditched on that. I had no idea as I stopped skating for a couple years during that time. Matt is awesome and would puke in his mouth if he saw one of these Lil Wayne videos.

Big influence! Had us shaving our heads and hitting up the army surplus stores for shorts. All time favorite dude

You guys nailed it! Back in the early 90's Hensley was my inspiration for tricks and style. i even read that he didnt wash those green cargo shorts so i didnt wash mine too. i had the chain hanging from my wallet and the shaved head. He had such an impact on skateboarding and myself as a youngster. i always wished for more from him but watching this kinda explains that shit. now i can't wait for part 2.

I mowed lawns for a whole summer to get a Matt Hensley H-street. Those videos were for a lot of midwesterners the internet of the times. We were finally clued in every few years about how advanced the homeland/west coast of skateboarding really was. It was such a great time in life. Trying to play catch up. Matt H and H-street were some amazing dudes. Last anonymous post. Cheers betches!

This guy is a big deal, at least as having an influence on my skateboarding growing up. I had magazine ads/posters of Hensley all over my wall back in the late 80's/early 90's. This guy had such an influence on my generation of skateboarders to the point everyone was shaving their heads and wear army shorts with chain wallets. When I finally met Matt in person in 1993 and it was probably one of the raddest skate memories. At the time he was team manager for Plan B after the Girl riders split and he skated in a demo with Pat Duffy, Jeremy Wray, Jonas Wray and Ronnie Bertino. This was way after people were doing backside 360 one foots. Matt did one on a pyramid as if it was 1990. It was classic Hensley and I was so stoked to see it. Matt is truly a skate legend.
